Set up your family
Every ant gets an avatar and a colour of their own. Then tap a few suggested chores — done. No registration, no email address.
🐜 Stop asking twice
Every finished chore earns crumbs — every ant redeems them for their own wishes. Family goals like a zoo trip and your ant nest fill up on the side, without anyone giving up crumbs.
Two truly native apps — not a web app.
How it works
Every ant gets an avatar and a colour of their own. Then tap a few suggested chores — done. No registration, no email address.
The Today view shows each ant what’s up. Checking off earns crumbs — with confetti.
Every ant redeems their crumbs for their own wishes. Family goals and the ant nest fill up on the side — without anyone giving up crumbs.
Features
One view for the whole family: who has chores today, who’s already done? Spontaneous chores can be checked off right away, too.
Every ant redeems their own crumbs — for their own wishes, with over 50 age-appropriate ideas. Family goals like a zoo visit fill up automatically, no one has to give up crumbs.
Every ant can save up for a wish and always sees: “12 crumbs to go!”
Every ant has their own account with all earnings and spendings. Wrong entry? Just undo it.
One chore, several ants — every day it’s automatically someone else’s turn. That splits chores between siblings fairly all by itself. No more “I did it yesterday!”.
The month view shows it at a glance: green means everything done. Forgot something? Check it off later.
The busiest ant of the week wears the crown — and picks what the family does on Sunday.
If you like, parents confirm finished chores before crumbs are paid out. A 4-digit PIN protects settings and redeeming.
The streak counts every day everything got done — and keeps everyone motivated.
For parents
Each ant redeems their crumbs for rewards of their own; on the side, your shared ant nest keeps growing. If you like, add family goals such as a zoo trip on top. No sibling contest — each ant at their own pace.
No registration, no banners, no analytics, no Ameisi servers. All data stays on your devices, which makes the app GDPR-friendly by design. The optional sync on Apple devices runs through your private iCloud — Ameisi can’t see anything.
Ameisi needs no connection. In a cottage with no signal, on a plane or with mobile data off, everything works exactly as it does at home — because nothing has to be fetched from a server first.
Family apps get shut down, and years of entries disappear with the server. In Ameisi your chores and crumbs live on your devices. Even if we were gone one day, the app on your devices would keep working.

Guides
Two questions come up again and again — and neither has much to do with software. Here are our long-form answers.
From 3 to 14: what children can realistically manage at each stage — and how many chores a day actually make sense.

Locally on your devices. On Apple devices you can optionally turn on family sync via your private iCloud — shared only with people you invite yourself. Ameisi runs no servers and can’t see your data.
Ameisi is one. There is no registration, no email address and no password. You install the app and start straight away. Only the optional Apple family sync needs an iCloud account — yours, not ours.
Yes, completely. All chores, crumbs and rewards live on the device. Ameisi works on a plane, in a holiday cottage with no signal or with mobile data switched off exactly as it does at home.
Ameisi has no banners, no video ads, no advertising IDs and no analytics. Children only ever see their chores and rewards. The app is funded by the optional Ameisi Plus subscription, not by advertising.
Many do — through accounts, analytics SDKs and advertising IDs. Ameisi collects nothing: there is no account, no tracking, no advertising ID and no Ameisi server that data could be sent to. Everything stays on your own devices.
No. Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac) sync with each other via your iCloud. The Android app is fully local — Google’s backup helps when switching devices.
Yes. Ameisi runs natively on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and the optional iCloud family sync keeps all three in step. Setting up chores and rewards is especially comfortable on the Mac.
At five, most children manage laying the table, watering plants, feeding a pet with supervision, sorting laundry by colour and tidying their toys into a box. Keep each chore to a single, clearly bounded step and the same one every day. See the full list by age.
Fewer than most parents assume. One fixed chore a day is plenty for preschoolers, two to three is normal at primary-school age, and three to five from about ten. Consistency matters far more than the number.
The simplest way is a fixed rotation: the same chore moves from child to child on a clear rhythm, so nobody is permanently stuck with the unpopular job. Ameisi does this automatically and shows whose turn it is each day.
Most experts advise against tying pocket money to everyday household chores, because it reframes shared family work as paid labour. That’s why rewards in Ameisi are experiences, from a movie night to a zoo visit. Money only appears for voluntary “extra jobs” beyond the normal routine.
Not inherently — it depends on how they are built. Problems appear when rewards are paid for things that should be taken for granted, when children compete against each other, or when it is only about money. Ameisi uses experiences instead of cash and a shared goal instead of a sibling contest. More in the guide.
Yes, if you want. In approval mode a checked-off chore only counts once a parent confirms it. An optional parent PIN also protects settings and redeeming.
Free for one family member — with all core features. Ameisi Plus unlocks your whole family, plus custom chores, custom rewards and full editing. Monthly or yearly, first 3 days free, cancel anytime — and thanks to Family Sharing, one subscription covers the whole family.
Nothing — that is exactly the point. Your chores and crumbs live on your devices, not on a server that can be switched off. Other family apps have closed down and taken years of entries with them. With Ameisi the app on your devices simply keeps working.
The whole family. All chore and reward suggestions are staggered by age — from making the bed to washing the car — and fully customisable. You decide what applies in your home.
Ameisi is available for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android.
