Privacy at a glance
Ameisi is built so that we never receive your data in the first place: the apps need no account, show no ads and contain no tracking. All content (family members, chores, crumbs) lives exclusively on your devices. Ameisi runs no servers of its own.
This website
This website uses no cookies, no trackers and no analytics, and loads nothing from third-party servers. When you visit, the hosting provider technically processes server log data (e.g. IP address and time of access) to provide and secure the service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not evaluate this data ourselves.
The apps
The iOS, iPadOS, macOS and Android apps collect no data and transmit nothing to us. On Apple devices you can optionally enable family sync: your data is then also stored in the private iCloud of your own Apple account and shared only with people you invite yourself; Apple’s privacy policy applies. On Android, your device’s automatic Google backup may back up the app data; that is a feature of your Google account. In both cases Ameisi has no access whatsoever.
Children’s data
In Ameisi, you as parents create the family members — with a name, an optional birth year and an optional photo. This information stays exclusively on your devices (or in your private iCloud if you enable family sync) and is never transmitted to us or to third parties. We do not collect, store or process any personal data of children. Every family member can be deleted in the app at any time — along with all related chores, crumbs and entries.
Ameisi Plus (subscription)
Ameisi is free for one family member. “Ameisi Plus” unlocks your whole family and further features and is handled as a subscription through the App Store or Google Play. Purchase, billing and cancellation run exclusively through your Apple or Google account: we receive neither payment details nor your contact data. The app merely asks the operating system whether a subscription is active; this check happens on the device. For payment processing, the privacy policies of Apple and Google apply.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Since we store no personal data about you, there is usually simply nothing for us to disclose or delete — for any questions, reach us at info@ameisi.app.
